Saved from the Abyss

The game ‘Ib’ really moved me to tears. I fell in love with Garry the moment I recognized him as one of the visitors of the gallery.

In my headcanon, Garry is not the cool, laid-back person you see in a lot of fanart. He actually shows lots of emotions, is a bit of a coward and a real loving person despite his creepy appearance. He’s strong in his very own way; Protecting Ib and trying to cheer her up while he’s scared to death himself, going so far as to sacrifice himself for a girl he met a few hours earlier.

Ib seems almost emotionless throughout the game which makes her appear rather strong for a little girl, but is actually suffering a great deal. Gary notices and comforts her. Tears ran down my face when she slapped and cried out to reach him in his delirious state. I’m sure Ib cried as well.
